First pictures of the Sony ILCE-QX1 E-mount camera!

QuoteQuote:
These are the first pictures of the ILCE-QX1 E-mount camera. The third QX camera after the QX10 and QX100 (here one Bay). But unlike the other two this hasn’t a fixed lens but is an E-mount module. It has an APS-C sensor (not sure yet but should have the same great A6000 24MP sensor with fast af), built-in flash, costs 300 Euro body only and 450 Euro with 16-50mm lens. It will be announced tomorrow (September 3) at 16:00 in Berlin. You can follow the event live here on SonyAlphaRumors.com!

I will wait for the 4K version.

I wonder if it has a tripod mount. Looks flat on the bottom, but the mass of it is taken up by that battery.

LOL, and this forum thought the K-S1 was too far out there. When they see this they are going to implode.

Check the link, it does have a tripod mount.

My thought is that for adapting lenses it is quite intriguing. Thinking of fixed tripod macro work where you have a full size tablet view and can move about the space to get the angle and focus just right without ever having to actually be behind the camera. Actually, any tripod work would be quite liberating.

That is pretty fantastic. Definitely useful for more situations, such as remote long exposure, remote time lapse recording, etc.

No one is going to complain about the size of the LCD screen, that's for sure.

It probably is, if it's like the previous two remote mount lenses that Sony made. It's for shooting without the phone.
