Primarily Nikon D600 and Sony A7R. Have a K-5 but I don't think any of the pics above were taken with it.

Great shots.

What is your opinion of the A7r? Shutter loud? Lag?

I thinking about pairing one with the new MF Zeiss 35mm & 50mm F/2.0, so I'm not too concerned with AF. Zeiss brings out a 75mm or 90mm F/2 I would have a complete kit for my needs with this type of camera.

Love the A7R. Update the firmware to 1.02; the only problem I've had with it is that when you turn it off and on again quickly it really took a while to clear the memory or something. Firmware 1.02 seemed to take care of it.

I hadn't noticed the 1/200 shutter shake that others complained about... until I put on telephoto lenses. Now I can see it. A bit, but at 200mm, where my shutter speed should be higher anyway. Shutter is between the K-5 and the D600... so it's pretty loud but not absolutely wretched.

Love-love-love it in manual focus. Honestly I was using it on some of my Nikon/Pentax lenses, forgoing the AF in order to make sure I got the shot. It's quite a turn of events for me to have a better chance getting the shot with MF rather than AF.

Overall I might wait another six months. Knowing Sony something better is coming. I'd be patient and wait for a good deal... I found mine barely used, with an alleged scratch I can't find, for $1600 on Amazon in ~June.

Yes. I'm being patient. I want to see how the new Zeiss lenses perform. I want to see the new sensor technology that Sony is promising. Even if I don't need the new tech, it will drive down prices of the current A7r. I wouldn't be using the A7r for long work, so I'm not too worried about the shake.

Sure. Don't know the price of the Zeiss 50 but I'd spend a long time looking at the Sony/Zeiss 55mm F/1.8 before I'd purchase the 50.

shutter lag is the biggest problem i have with the a7r... you can still get an action shot, but you gotta be real quick on the trigger :-0

a7r & tamron sp 60-300mm:
