A7 - experiences with firmware updates?

Just updating my A7 from version 1.01. What is different?

I'm getting old and slow at these things (soon 28)... Used to know every new feature that came with new firmware.

Are there any ways to zoom images in preview etc?

Wow thank you for the url...

The official change log is a joke, plus there have been several releases between 1.01 and 1.20.

What I'm interintered in is real experience from users.

No problem. On my A7M2, I went from 1.01 to 1.10 to 1.20. The only real improvement that I
note, is that the time to turn on the camera is noticeably quicker.

I have not had an original A7, so do not know if the UI is the same. I use the focus magnifier
(under the picture record tab, page 5 at the bottom). It works well for me. Makes using manual
focus lenses so much easier on old eyes.

28 years old is old and slow?

companies don't typically list things like specific bug fixes in a release log, so there is little point in getting lathered up about what's included in an o.s. update.

Sometimes, Fikkser, it might seem as if a software upgrade has a limited purpose (to support recent lens releases, for instance) but it can also quietly contain fixes for problems.

Being from the IT world, I routinely apply manufacturer patches unless there's a real history of bricking or other side effects. I updated my A7 without drama.
