I doubt he painted over any openings or seals, that would tend to make them seal improperly or worse possibly degrade the seals. Looks like he did a nice job on the paint, and a nice job on saving the cameras. Also looks like the Nikon techs spent some time on this.

Pfffft. I had my K-30 in a monsoon for 3 days straight. Difference is mine didn't need a technician afterwards. Just rinsed the muck off with the sink, kept shooting. Still works like a charm 2 years later.

Kozlok this was not intended to be a Pentax vs Nikon WR thread and I am sure Pentax WR is better, I just thought it was an interesting article.
I would love to see some of your monsoon photos.
