Pepper berry, I’ve got the Pentax A 100mm macro F4 and I absolutely love it. Do you recommend the #3 auto extension Pentax tube to get closer to a 1:1 photo or not? I’m on the fence because I don’t really want to lose an Fstop of light if I don’t have to.
that stop of light could be critical depending upon which camera body you're using (SR or not)....

I'm using a macro-focusing helicoid on my Fuji bodies for k-mount and M42 lenses, and it solves the issue for me ...

of course, you could find/buy an A100/2.8 macro and not worry about that stop of light at all....

What is a focusing helicoid? And what brand did you buy?

it's an adapter, say M42 to X mount, but has a helicoid inside that gives you a much closer focusing distance than the lens alone, which is hugely helpful for lenses that don't have a great mfd...

Fotasy make several of them; I've bought one of mine from Amazon and another off of eBay....

I'll post some photos after I'm done with the office today...

That looks really cool. It looks like you can only get the helicoid with an M42 adapter.

That's a nice $100 dollar Nikon lens.

What are you doing with a Fuji X-T2 when you've got the X-H1?
