Steve
I enjoy my A7 II immensely. Takes great photos. I can use all my Pentax lenses. I see no point in obsessing, as many do, over a camera that is used in my hobby. What's not to like. I guess I had not noticed any negatives for the way I use the A7 II. IMHO the firmware update will only improve my enjoyment.

Does the Sony A7 ii autofocus with Pentax lenses? For instance the FA 35mm or FA 50mm?

No. Only with native Sony FE lenses, and Sony A and other certain lenses with the Sony LA-EA4 adapter. Pentax lenses work great using manual focus.

So no "smart" adapter for PK? I know there are 3rd party smart adapters for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts with autofocus, and I thought the same for PK (Though I only use a "dumb" adapter for my Takumar with a M42-PK ring).

I would love to get a "smart" auto focus adapter to use my Nikon F lenses on the A camera. I have never seen or heard such adapter. Do they exist?

I don't care for auto-focus, but an "active adapter" to meter wide open and stop down automatically would be great. But realistically the A7 EVF is just fine for viewing and focusing at the taking aperture.

I did find one on Taobao (I am in China now) and obviously it is by a Chinese manufacturer, and it costs around RMB 1800, which is around 300 US dollars.

This kind of adapter retails about RMB 200 or 30 - 40 dollars in China, and also from one of the many Chinese manufacturers.
