if you want "small" this might be the ticket. No wonder Nikon is scratching their heads with what to do with their N1 system. As for the Q, well there gets to be a point where too small is too small.

I would love for Ricoh to re-indroduce the GR with a removable pancake 18mm f/2.8 (i.e. a new mount), built-in SR, compatibility with Pentax flashes, and keep the size as close to the current GR as possible. Last but not least, offer a K-mount adapter to mount your SDM PK lenses with full AF/SR functionality. They could bootstrap this new system with just those two accessories and schedule other lenses for this new mount later. Basically a K-3 mirrorless. Low cost, low risk. And would cover current gaps while extending their "K system".

Why don't you compare the gx80(the subject of the thread)

The GX8 is similar size to the K-01

Because the GX8 was, literally, the subject of the thread, so when I saw the reference to the GX80 later in the main body of the post, I thought that was a typo.
No harm done my post has been deleted.

There's nothing wrong with the Q system {and perhaps the N1 system} that couldn't be improved with some work {WR, EVF, a pancake standard lens and/or a native super zoom}. Panasonic does a good job of video, which helps their allure, but note that they also do some basic things, such as EVF and tilting LCD, right from the start.

No, something the same size of the GR (i.e. pocketable) which the K-01 was clearly not.

For me if it's not reasonably pocketable it's not "small".
Once you add a lens the Q is "big".
MY Canon S95 is about right and the Pano SZ50 is right at the limits of becoming too big.

I guess that all depends on how big your pockets are.
My Q7+01 is roughly twice the depth, but same width and height as the S95.
I bought it specifically to replace my tiny-sensored Canon Elph, and it regularly rides in my pocket.

Q7 +1 fits my pocket easily and is a great street shooter, the other lenses add size but with cargo pants its all good.Ive been out with Q Q10 Q7 with 1 2 6 attached and 3 also in a pocket....However, bright sunlight ruins some situations, the loupe is bulky.

So, the GM5 and this new Pano are of particular interest, espescially with the UHD video available

Yes the loupe is a big issue {literally}, which is why some kind of viewfinder is essential to being successful these days.

A further refinement to, at least, my definition of "pocketable ".

pocketable camera = a camera that accommodates to my normally available pockets and not the other way around.
In other words when I go out with the Canon S95 I give no more thought to how its going to be carried than to carrying a wallet.
I think this definition was what made so many folks abandon the PS for phone cameras - the device must fit the life style of the user not the user must accommodate to the device.

Yup, that's how I use my Q7+01, along with my epi-pen and my small flashight.

Can anyone confirm that the GX80 has real focus bracketing - using a burst of full resolution stills, and not only the 4K "post-focus" thingamajig? This blog post seems to imply that it does. It discusses post-focus, and then states that the GX80 also has other features, such as:
QuoteQuote:
Aperture & Focus Bracketing: another impressive feature to make sure you never miss a shot. As well as all of the normal bracketing functions in most DSLR’s and CSC’s, the GX80 can provide 5 levels of focus bracketing and maximum to minimum aperture bracketing.
