Well if true at $9,000 seems a bargain basement Hassy. MF and mirrorless? Very desirable I am sure but I really love my 645 so I won't be biting

Hasselblad X1D Leaked: World's First Medium Format Mirrorless Camera

I'm drooling... Though it looks a lot like a giant K-01!

Can we get a h1d to Pentax 645 or 67 adapter

Except it is medium format and is priced at a level that has much relevance to this page. This will compete with the 645Z. Pentax will definitely need to react to it I suspect.

It would need more lenses before I would jump ship, but if it comes out with some good glass, then it's definitely a threat.

A giant K-01 that takes square pictures with a 45mm standard lens, the focal length of which is equal to the diagonal of a 33x33mm square.

Looks pretty sweet. I imagine it will be a great camera but I don't see myself getting one anytime soon.
I wonder if Pentax will ever take this route. I can see how there would be value in it if done right.

Maybe but they'd need new lenses to make it anymore compact.....flange distance...

Though this does add competition to the 645Z as an affordable(ish) MF camera...

I believe that the announced price will make this camera even less expensive then the CFV 50 backs which had recently seen a big price decrease. Maybe this new camera will force the various CFV backs even further down in price, especially in the second hand market.

Some of the comments I have read on other forums questioned this new Hasselblad's ability to compete with the 645Z due to the latter's robust build. If this camera is able to use existing HC lenses then it might push Pentax to come up with a mirrorless 645 as well. Interesting times and this camera is less expensive then the first digital slrs which were very primitive. In the meantime I will continue to enjoy my 500 C/M and use but not enjoy my Nikon CS8000. Scanning is still faster than having to work for another six months to buy a new camera system.

Lol, "game changer" is a term used too much these days. It will probably be nice, but not a game changer.

Im betting on it being a rebasged sony with a rediculus price tag. Theyve rebadged sony cameras before and sold them at higher prices.
Hassy is desperate. I doubt the price is gonna be regular high Hassy prices. 645Z is killing them so they have to fight back. I would not be surprised if they price it near 645Z prices. The lens prices and choices are a whole different story between the two systems.

Good points Matt. My guess is that Pentax is working on a higher res version of the 645Z. All I know is that Pentax, with the 645Z is eating Hassy and Phase One's lunch.

So they have to fight back somehow without annoying people who have paid $30-40K for one of their body and back combos.

Pricing is in the links. $8995 for the body, $2295 for the 45mm, $2695 for the 90mm.

To me, the biggest disadvantage of 645z is its array of lenses. If this new mirrorless can easily adopt more lenses, then it worths consideration.

I know Hassy is a laughing stock for their Sony camera re-badge.

But mirrorless Medium Format at Pentax 645z price point? It's pretty exciting to say the least.
If one see how Sony A7 mirrorless series disrupt the FF market, surely we can expect to see similar thing in the MF market.

Thanks Pentax 645D and Z for bring the MF price down, and now Hassy needs to price this thing similarly, which they did.
