Good water proof camera

I plan to do some cage dives and want to take some pictures. I really don't want to take my DSLR and purchase a water tight case for it. Can anyone sudjest a good camera that can also be used hiking or at the beach.

All the manufacturers make a waterproof P&S. The Ricoh WG-5 is well regarded in its class.

I have a WG-1 and a WG-3. Had a W30 before that. All these models eventually fail under water, but your first outing should be okay. The WG-3 is still going strong after a few years of inconsistent use. Picture quality is just ahead of a phone camera, no where near a DSLR. Nikon had a water-proof version of their 1 series, I think picture quality would be a lot better, but there are reports of it failing underwater as well, and then you are out more money. Good luck!

I had a nikon aw130 and pentax WG3. Not blown away by either. Maybe expectations too high. Wish they had a waterproof lens that had decent picture quality, zoom and could truly handle being underwater. I would pay for it but doesn't exist as far as I can tell.
