Suggestions for a pocketable camera

I have been shooting more and more with mobiles lately than the cameras and been happy with kind of shots I am getting - for example, here is a picture taken with iphone. Hence I am thinking to pickup a small pocketable camera - and not too expensive. Was thinking of RX100 (first revision - quite cheap now a days) but looking forward to other suggestions too. Looking for something that fits in a jeans pocket.

Thanks in advance.

+1 for the RX 100. You can even probably get a mark 2 or 3 for a reasonable price now that the 5 is out.

If you're happy with phone camera shots, maybe your next model could be the Google Pixel?

In that case keep it small, light, compact and simple and don't try to turn it into a miniature DSLR - remember why you want small in the first place.

if you want truly pocketable (pants) but still an actual camera with a vf, i suggest the leica c/panny lf1. it can be fully automatic or fully manual or somewhere in between. it has a 28-200mm lens at a fast 2.0 at the wide end. and it has wifi capability.

Panasonic LX-7. Read the early comparison reviews of it vs the early Sony rx100 carefully. I found a number that found minimal differences in quality of images or leaned to the lx7 despite the small sensor. This for example: Real Life Testing - LX7 and RX100

There are pros and cons to each. The LX-7 is the only non-cellphone camera I took to London and Paris earlier this year.
It may not fit as easily into your pocket as the Rx100 however, and it has no built in viewfinder (nor does the early Sony) although you can buy an externally attachable viewfinder and carry it in another pocket for times when you need it.

I'm also soon trying out my new to me GX-1 with a pancake zoom or prime. I'm not sure how much the slight increase in size and the much slower zoom with the larger sensor will compare to the LX-7 in a broad range of conditions. The LX-7 Leica lens is very very good. The small sensor size and increased depth of field worked well as a travel camera for me on my trip. However having a small ILC appeals too.

Not sure I'd put it in my jeans but my Nikon Coolpix S9900 fits easily into a shirt pocket as it collapses to a very thin shape yet extends to provide a 30x optical zoom. I've been impressed with it so far and it takes good shots in macro mode too.

Edit: I just checked the size and on my 24" monitor those photos are larger than the camera itself by about 1.25 times.

Thanks Adam, did little bit more research after your comment, mark III makes more sense with faster and wider lens and EVF.

I carry my Pentax Q7 in my jeans pocket - I even sometimes stuff it in my pocket when I go to church {not jeans} - everyone else here thinks I'm nuts, but that doesn't bother me.
