Ever heard of Kamlan 50mm f1.1 ??

I stumbled upon this lens online, called the SainSonic Kamlan 50mm f1.1. It is an APSC lens and it comes in Sony, Nikon and Canon mount. I don't see a Pentax K option. The lens is really cheap, under $175. But it is f1.1, has 11 aperture blades, 52mm filter threads. Manual focus, and only 5 elements. Think it will ever come out for Pentax K? Is a conversion from Canon mount possible??
I don't expect it has very good quality, but considering the price, even with a conversion, it might be interesting to try out.

Think we should write to them??

Link to 'official site' here: Kamlan 50mm F1.1 APS-C Manual Focus Lens

There are some other new lens brands that make odd lenses, like Neewer, 7artisans, Meike, Opteka.. Seems like an emerging market. Hope Pentax won't be left out for much longer, even if these lenses are not on the same level as Tamron, Sigma and other third parties we are already used to

Note I am not in any way affiliated with any of these. Just interested in odd lenses.

It seems to be a mirrorless lens. I see info on EOS-M, m4/3, Sony E-mount, maybe Fuji X in the future...

You can see the review for it here:
To me it seems pretty "eh". There's a Leica M-mount FF version (adaptable to Sony E-mount) of the lens from a company 7artisans (rebranded version?) for around $369

Its interesting to notice that Chinese optical suppliers are going for the expensive lens market, mostly manufactures for cctv, surveillance, and cheap camera optics..
I believe that now USA Federal laws requiere surveillance cams must comply with certain grade of resolution and detail, able to show detail at 100× or more crops, in order to bid in goverment purchases.
So this means that these optical suppliers are upping their game, and as a side effect, will be able to produce optics as good or better than brand lenses for much less..They dont have the AF mechs yet, due to patent and licensing issues, but its only a matter of time that any known lens brand will license it to them and bam! chinese AF 0.85 lenses for everybody...

Yongnuo is already making EF and F-mount (AF-S) lenses...They're about half the price of Canon or Nikon lenses...

Yep, I forgot that one..it was said that they copied the AF at first, but now they are fully licensed for EF ( but not the EF-S mount, Canon did not license the electronic aperture)

And I wouldnt mind they came out with a 28-135 1.8 HSM KAF4 mount for less that $400, provided it would be at least optically similar to Sigmas

The EF mount has only electronic aperture; there's no mechanical coupling option.

I would love to see the smaller Chinese company's (like Yongnuo, Mitakon, etc.) release some updated/faster lenses (e.g. a 35mm f1.4, 24mm f/2) in m42 mount but alas, I know that's never gonna happen

Mitakon has made Kmount lenses, though. Some older lenses as well as the newer 85mm f1.2.

I would like to try that f1.1 lens on Pentax K just for the sheer novelty. The couple f1.2 lenses that exist in Kmount are really rare beasts, and this one is (allegedly) even brighter.

It says right up top in the overview:

The official website claims:

QuoteQuote:
Premium Optical Design- 11 circular aperture blade, 5 groups 5 elements lens stricture with high quality multi-coated optical glass, ensures low image distortion, excellent image sharpness and contrast. 50mm focal length is equivalent to 75mm on APS-C camera. Perfect for portraits shooting with fascinating background blur effect.

Compatibility- Compatible with SONY E-Mount Digital Cameras, such as SONY NEX3, 3N, 5, 5T, 5R, 6, 7, A5000, A5100, A6000, A6100 and A6300. A7 series full-frame camera can use the lens after setting up the APS-C Mode.
The website and ebays also sells the lens in following mounts:
Canon EOS M, Sony E, M4/3, Fuji X, and a rebadge for the Leica M
So it should cover the APSC sensor fully, and the back element should be small enough to fit Kmount. The register distance might be a problem, though

All of those are short register mirrorless mounts...
