Ouch incorrect thread! Don’t know how I managed that.

Sometimes modern lenses, especially zoom lenses, surprise or even amaze me with what they can do. Here are two images, the original and a crop, taken with a Sony RX10MIV. If you're not familiar with it, it has a 24~600mm FF equivalent (f2.4-4.0) Zeiss-branded lens in front of the one-inch sensor. I bought it for the purpose it was built = a near do everything camera in one unit. Taken @ about 250mm FF equivalent. IQ is not as good @ the 600mm end, but it's good enough for many uses.

That’s great. Nothing wrong with 1” sensors at iso 125 to 400. I’ve printed up to 13x19” with my zs200 with great results.

Following up on the image taken with a SONY RX10mIV I posted just above, here is a pair taken with that camera with the zoom at full extension = FF equivalent of 600mm. An uncropped image, and a crop from the same image file of the two turtles on the right. I only have one complaint with this do-it-all camera, it is heavy.

I must stop doing this in spite of being continually pleased and surprised by the IQ that can be obtained with a one-inch sensor and a good zoom lens. Some lesser scaup were pausing on a little pond during their journey much further to the nesting area. I managed a few shots with my Sony RX10 mIV @ maximum tele position (FOV = 600mm on FF) with the ISO cranked high. The first image below is uncropped with some PP, the second is a crop from the same image file with additional PP enhancement. That is PDG

Trout lily with the RX10 mkIV. Hand held and working quickly (we were out on our walk) it would have been better with a low-level tripod and a lower ISO
