Canon mirrorless starting to catch up..M50.

So 24mp, the AF their other cameras have,up to 10fps,pupil detection AF,143 af points with certain lenses,99 with the kit lens???????which is puzzling.
4K video(24/25fps)1080(60fps)720(120fps)
Electronic 5axis stabilised,100-25600 iso,EVF 2.36,
390gms.White or Black.other bells and whistles.

Yep, I see Canon making some improvements lately. The weaknesses I see in their mirrorless line are the lenses and the fact that, of course, they still use Canon sensors.

Yes, not many M mounts at present but they will come, meanwhile the EF/efs lenses have an AF adapter..relatively cheap too.

I think they persevered and by the 5th iteration (ie, M5) , they have made some headway.

Its also a decent take on the apsc milc format imo.
Size is nice sized, smallish lenses (kinda).
Catered for lower end where their 350D was previously.

To me, they have shown a path out for DSLR makers who have not dared to make the jump.
Of course with the EF lenses its easier to make an adapter compared to Pentax and Nikon.

A friend got a discounted M3 because the M5 came along, he likes it.I had a short play round and they feel nice in the hand.I looked through his travel images from Indonesia and Phillipines and they were quite acceptable, its a 24mp sensor too.

Rumours are about that Canon are doing a FF mirrorless, maybe this year???

Specs seem pretty good but this is one ugly, weird looking camera.

= no stabilisation other than software (even the KS1 does this only in video)
My old film cam offers biomechanical 5axis stabilised - works even without battery.

I recall its in 5d mk4 as well?....or maybe on other recent Canon?

Lens stabilisation works OK for Canon and others.

It does indeed.

Importantly, that 4'02" official marketing video is precisely 4'02" longer than anything Ricoh has produced for the K-1II... I'm not one to jump on the Pentax-marketing-bashing bandwagon, but nicely-produced materials like this really do help

Yes, anyone can set up a YT...and there is one for RI/pentax...but its not used enough.....

Other Camera Companies utilise it plenty....i suppose we have to fit in with RIs application to promoting their products????

But look on the bright side,RI lead the field for NP(non promotion!).

There's a guitar maker in Hampshire that I went to for many years to have my acoustic guitars repaired, re-fretted, set up etc. In recent times, he has a web site of sorts, but not a very good one. He advertised his services for a short time in one of the UK's better guitar magazines, then stopped. Basically, he has almost no promotion other than word of mouth. He makes the most beautiful acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, etc. I've played some of his instruments and they're wonderful. He builds about a dozen each year, and sells them all without difficulty - and he's been doing that for a long time. I often wonder why he hasn't expanded his operation, but I think he's just happy with that number
