News, the new DSP EPK-1000 video processor

News, the new DSP EPK-1000 video processor

Here's the first information about Pentax's new DSP EPK-1000 processor

The EPK-1000 digital colour video processor uses Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology which automatically adjusts and optimises the colour and illumination of the video signal to provide maximum clarity and resolution of the image. Comes with a 100 W Xenon light source, air pump and full screen image. In addition, the EPK-1000 automatically switches to shooting mode for close-up stills, minimizing camera movement during still image capture. The serial connector will transfer the still images to a personal computer. The compact and lightweight design has a small footprint and is the perfect solution for users of endoscopic systems with limited space.

This is Hoya... nothing to do with Ricoh Imaging, let alone the Pentax K-1.

I don't know when it was actually introduced, but I found a webpage for it from May of 2015, so hardly new news. And yes, Pentax Medical is still a part of Hoya.

It's the bit they wanted, if cameras and other consumer electronics get you 8 percent returns and medical stuff gets you 20.

Those Hoya boys kept the medical division of Pentax and still have rights to the name for said equipment. This thread is closed and moved to the off-brand forum.
