Fujinon 55mm on a Canon, need modifications to fit ??

Looking at getting the Fujinon 55mm either in f/1.8 or f/2.2 , been reading that it may need to be slightly modified to use on modern digital cameras, is that right?

Oh and are they available in M42 fitment

It will be mounted on a Canon 60D

You can get this lens in a m42 mount and to mount this to a canon look for a m42 eos adapter with AF confirm chip

There are two things about Fujinon lenses. They don't have an A/M switch, the lens needs to be in manual to be able the stop down. You either need an adapter that also pushes the aperture pin or disable it altogether( I did on mine by pushing it in with a sharp object until it snapped). Also there is a tab on the outside of the mount of the lens, which is needed for open aperture metering on Fujica bodies. Useless on any modern camera.
