New mount. New lenses. Why risk Nikon, when Sony is way ahead of the game ? Do I actually care ? No, not really, but much of the loyalty towards Pentax has been because of the K-mount being kept alive over decades.

Was it a A7RIII at the end?
It looks so similar with the thin body, pseudo prism top and thick grip.

Good to see Nikon step into the game with it.
In the end, the devil will be in the details like how good the interface is, the EVF quality, ability to mount legacy and existing F-mount lenses, etc

They can't go after Sony with giant SLR lenses, now can they?

And, Nikon will have the most to gain from adapted lenses, assuming their registration distance is comparable to other current mirrorless camera mounts. (They have one of the largest registration distances on the F-mount, so they couldn't really adapt many lenses at all)

Nikon is most likely to produce "full function" adapters for Nikon lenses.
