I picked up an unusual 2x M42 converter recently. It's unusual because there's no maker's name at all, just made in Japan, because it's about 3/4s the depth (flange to flange) of most other converters, and because it's silvery rather than black. I have a vague recollection of selling them as a high-end luxury model when I worked in a camera shop in the 1970s, but I can't for the life of me remember who made them. I think it was more that it was a designer product than that it was especially good, but it was definitely an expensive item:
Anyone recognize it? I think that the original front cap was silver matching the rear cap, not black, if that helps at all.
