K Mount Adapters To Sony E with full functionality?

I've been searching the threads to determine if an adapter exists allowing full functionality of a K Mount DA lens on the newer Sony Mirrorless bodies without adding more glass between the lens and the body?

Would a DA* 300mm f4 work fully or partially or not at all?

I can't answer your question except with "i doubt it", It would be fantastic if that was possible and used the Sony Autofocus speed, but the focus motor in the 300 is the slow part.

There is no such adapter. It is possible to buy the Techart Pro AF Leica to e-mount adapter and then attach the pentax lens with a Leica adapter to the Techart. The Techart-Pro works somewhat like our old 1.7 adapter which adjusts focus with adapter movement. In both cases you have to be close to focus already for it to work. I did not think it worth the trouble.

I also doubt that there is an adapter that connects the electronics in a Sony camera to that in a Pentax lens, i.e. give you aperture control and autofocus. There is such a thing for Canon EF lenses AFAIK but the market for Pentax support is just not there.

And for Sigma SA...But those mounts have been fully electronic since the 1980s...Pentax has 2 lenses with electromagnetic aperture...

There would be no reason to add glass - E-mount flange distance is less than K-mount flange distance - but someone would have to figure out translation between electronics, and since Pentax adopted in-lens motor so recently, it would probably need to provide an AF motor for earlier lenses.

There are several glassless adapters that provide an aperture ring (non-calibrated...no set stops) that should allow manual focus with stop-down metering. The DA* 300mm provides adequate image circle for both APS-C and 24x36mm FF, so that base is covered. Other DA-series lenses with smaller image circles would be suitable for cropped format on FF bodies or native APS-C. As noted above and readily apparent from a product search on various Web sites, there are no adapters that provide AF or aperture control by the body.
