Anyone know anything about the Nikon FE?

Indeed you would be hard pressed to tell the difference in models within the FE & FM lineup. However, it was much easier to tell the difference between the FM series to their predecessors the Nikkormats.

Most definitely! I started out with a Nikormat FT-2. The FM/FE models were more modern, lighter - though well made and a joy to use compared to the Nikormats. After the FE2 I never felt the need to update again, although I would have liked to have a Nikon FA which was the last Nikon film camera that interested me.
