Travel cameras



Just a list by a NatGeographic guy....no order of preference,so no best or worst judgement.All are good.

Mostly ILCs but a few fixed lenses too

There’s a mixture of purposes, largely unstated, in that selection, as you’d expect from a subject as broad as ”travellers”.

A selection of tools to get the hordes of selfie-takers out of the way would be a handy follow-up.

i bought a refurbuush panasonic zx60 for 198 dollars it has a view finder, handle raw files and 30x zoom. i bought it for a trip over seas for my wife and i like the pictures so much i plan to take it me everwhere i go. the zoom is equal to 720mm. i am thinking to start a flicker post on point and shoot travel cameras up to 40x zoom.

I second the TZ70.

It can go in a pocket everywhere.

Here is an example of it’s use at “600mm” equivalent:

Some of my best scenes have included selfie-takers - they add to the scene.

I travel with my RX100 for almost 4 years now. Very happy expect limited range that is sometimes very frustrating
