US $9995. Not a bad price at launch. Camera seems packed with tech too.

a native resolution of 12,288 x 6480 (80MP per frame), and a native ISO of 800
Do they mean a base ISO of 800? Doesn't seem great.

Last but not least, URSA Mini Pro 12K features an interchangeable lens mount. Customers can quickly switch between PL, EF and F mount, as well as B4 lenses.

F mount is unusual to see, but no doubt will be handy for many.

I suppose in this use it should be great, that ISO 800, after all video cameras are not the same as DSLR or hybrid cameras ..

I guess this is all about eventually selling new TVs to poor consumers currently stuck with 4K sets.

I have always thought that what makes a movie watchable and rewatchable is not the resolution of the film footage, but rather the presence of coherent plot, story, characters, and cinematography. Unfortunately, those are things that are often harder to fix than dropping extra money on a new video capture machine.

Its good to see sensors and image processing technology hitting the market with the speed and bandwidth needed for 12K video. I would love to know what the sales are for a piece of technology like this.I would image most of the customers will be rental houses.

Agreed! I much prefer watching a good B&W film from the sixties, digitized poorly, than a so-so modern movie with great 'technical' video.
