I won't be buying one, but I like it more than I thought I would. Not a bad little travel camera. The problem is that for light travel m4/3 would still be a better option. The Sony bodies were already too small.

Well its a new line,so its overpriced to begin with but when it drops(or flops) it could be a bargain?

Yes, but $ony have said they will be producing some other "smaller" lenses so maybe when that happens the C will gain travel popularity.

A realistic hands on by a $ony shooter.

There are plenty of critics of anything new, they usually only look for the negatives to new tech.

As time passes, the C line from $ony will become either popular or a niche(or extinct?)

The parts bin has put the C out there for "fun",this guy shows that.

Now Sony just needs to make some FE pancake primes for the new camera, and it will be even nicer.

One could use some of the existing E mount pancakes, but not ideal.

Sigma and Tamron have FE mount, and Viltrox and Samyang have some primes.A new small f1.8 35mm has just emerged from Samyang.

Sony seem have the best third party support of any M/L brand.

Not exactly compact lenses. Sony needs to do FE mount versions of it's (NEX) 16mm f2.8 and 20mm f2.8 pancakes, for example. Or Sigma.

The kit lens looks the goods.its been described as very good.

This body has surprised most, I'm sure the small lenses will be developed. In the meantime theres a good range of Sony/Tamron/Sigma/Viltrox(only 2)and Samyang(5Af and some manuals)...The adapters for EF glass seem to work ok too, theres probably others too.

The question is always with the lenses.

No matter how small the body is, the lenses couldn't be too small.

A small body with big lenses would be a worse nightmare.
Not necessarily. It all depends on how you hold it.
I hold my Q-7 with a 210mm lens by holding the body between my thumb {below} and my forefinger {on the shutter button} of my right hand, and the lens with my left hand.
It fits fine that way.

I might be interested in a camera like this if it would provide KAF3-mount or KAF4-mount.

Anyone see that the a7III is on sale at B&H for $1,698? That's about $100 less than the new a7C. Makes me wonder how much lower it will go during the holidays or around the time of the a7IV release. Hmmmm....

It's going to get cheaper. Sony has some seriously competitive full frame pricing right now. And a lot of pretty reasonable priced primes from them and third party. I'm tempted by that A7Rii for $1300 and some prime lenses.

A7 $700 24mp similar to D750 sensor
A7R $800 (36mp sensor like K-1)
A7R2 $1300 42mp sensor
A7II$1400 24mp
A73 $1700 24mp BSI
