I have a Yashica Minister lll, that I inherited. I don't know really anything about it, Don't know if it is in the Electro family. Seems in good shape, although I haven't tried to take any pictures with it.

The Yashica Minister with an f/2.8 4.5 cm Yashinon lens was released in February 1960 and features a selenium cell exposure meter for the first time.

Unfortunately I am not in the US and by the time I pay off the US national debt in postage costs (judging from how much the post seems to cost from the US I imagine thats what the government is doing, pay down the national debt in one go...simples just charge a trillion dollars to post something )

I could get it looked at locally but repairs will cost far more than the camera is worth to me. Normally I would cough up cos I am sentimental about old cameras, steam engines, folk music, trams and other things that died out but this thing is such a banger just for once I am letting head rule heart and disposing of it for spares but I may just leave it on the shelf and have another go at it. Its got a lot of charm to it and I had an idea to recover it in something exotic if I can ever get it going.

I have been looking at different Yashicas, but not in the right place for the right price yet.

I have a GSN which I inherited not long ago, but I hadn't bother getting the battery adapter for it, and the camera is aperture priority only.
Would like to have a Lynx someday.

These are interesting cameras. I tried to bid on a few on shopgoodwill but always got outbid, perhaps fortunately. Ultimately with pretty much everything they sell being "untested" I got gunshy of buying a brick. I think they are aperture priority cameras - no manual exposure right? So if their decades old electronic are failing, it's not usable. At least that's my understanding. Great looking cameras though.

They are prone go bricking from a problem called ‘Pad of Death’ theres a small rubber pad inside that perishes and once its gone the camera bricks. Its fixable but quite hard to do and sadly its not the only ill they seem to suffer from.

Their electronics are quite robust I hear, most of the failures are from the so called "pad of death".
Going to get a battery adapter for it and see how mine goes.
