Was the Sony 55mm F1.8 Sonnar T FE ZA*redesigned?

I saw one that says Zeiss on the name ring. When they were first made they use to say Carl Zeiss. I also read someone say that the renamed version has less CA. They said they owned the original and ended up selling it. Few years later they rebrought it and noticed the difference. Can anyone else confirm if the latest ones have less CA? Why would they change the name? Seems like a odd thing to do.

Carl Zeiss the Company renamed the brand name from 'Carl Zeiss' to 'Zeiss' in 2013. So any 'Carl Zeiss" branded product had to change the logo.

If anything has changed it probably mostly improved manufacturing process and improved quality control.
