Cinema R5 highly likely.

News has just been revealed from reliable sources of a cinema version of the R5.

A bigger body and internal cooling(a fan).

45mp and 8K raw /4K 120 internally, probably no recording limits and internal ND filters.

No indication of price or announcement date.

Canon has development on plenty of RF mount bodies but Covid is slowing things, so its wait and wait longer(its only time!).

Canon said the end of March beginning of April supply shortages should be solved and at least here in the US RF lenses and the R5 and R6 are in stock now at most retailers. The 28-70 F2 still seems to be out of stock everywhere still though.

That is a super quick and easy win. They just invest in a somewhat adjusted shell and some technically easy cooling et violá there you have a R5c for those who want looong videos.

The last remaining reason to exist for the Sony a7s3 suddenly evaporates.

The Canon is likely to cost more than A7Slll,maybe 4999(or more). They like to load the prices of the C designation cams.

If you mean camera like C70, which is aps-c and already quite ‘cheap’. It is 4500€. So R5 specs with -unlimited- 8K(will believe it when I see it). It would be pretty cheap if it was 4999.

It will depend on the style of the camera.

If it will be a C70 style full video focused boxy camera then yes, the price will go up and it will have a number of dedicated ports etc. This type of camera will not be for those who have any relevant degree of still photo taking.

On the other hand it could still have a hybrid DSLR-style body with not a lot of hardware extras other than cooling. This then still is good for stills shooting.

Internal ND already would point towards video, not stills.

Its going to be a slightly bigger version of R5,just enough space to cool it down.

Latest rumour indicates October, snippets of info will flow between then and now.

The R5c will be main cam with a R5 as B cam back up for those serious about moving pictures.Stills won't change much I wouldn't think.

Someone already found the R5c embedded somewhere on a website so it sounds pretty legit!

The rumours are a slightly thicker body, theres an image in video.

So its an R5 with internal cooling fan, similars stills to R5.

8K 60fps which the Nikon Z9 has or is getting in a firmware update.

Fullsize HDMI?(slight edit, its indicated its only a micro, but tomorrow we will find out and plenty more.)

Nothing official but here's a glimpse of what to expect.

Well, there we go! Big move to get Sony off from the podium. We will see what is next from them, and others.

Very interesting!

May get a few lenses announced as well, a 135 1.4 rumored. I don't have a need for it but it sounds interesting.

Yes, rumours say a lens or 2 maybe more.

With all the patents for RF lenses,I'd expect some with this announcement.

What will be interesting is the PRICE.

Having the Z9 at 5500 U$,this could be the direct competitor in capability.Theres a fair gap from 3900 to 5500.Obviously the R5C will be a bit more than R5,how big the bit is will be
