A7r III TAv equivalent?

Hi gang, I am trying to help a friend with setting up his Sony for shooting sports. I regularly shoot telephoto zooms with 1/800 f8 in TAv mode.

Is there an equivalent I can point him to? Besides “RTM” I can’t give him much advise about the body itself. It’s impressive with all the widgets and gadgets but completely foreign handling. Even trying to make adjustments to aperture shutter speed and ISO in Nanyal was more struggle than expected.

TIA

TAv is basically M mode with auto ISO. So, if you can select auto ISO in M mode on the A7, that should be all that's needed.

I have one and I can’t recall. I can check Adam’s suggestion later tonight.

Hi Matt, Adam is right.

I occasionally use A7R IV at my work place. Assuming that it's the same as A7R III,
  1. Set the mode dial to M. The rear dial controls the shutter speed and the front dial the aperture on our A7R IV.
  2. Press ISO (right on the 4-way pad) and set it to Auto. If you want to adjust the lowest and/or the highest ISO, press right on the 4-way pad again.
  3. When you change the shutter speed and/or aperture, the camera changes ISO accordingly.
