hi guys thought i would give an update on my selling the k-1 well i have had and tried some of the best lenses in the world and the best cameras out there lucky me
anyhow when i first got my k-1 i fell in love with the camera build quality image quality the list goes on but i had trouble with the accurate focusing so i sold the camera for a crazy low price that i couldt even tell you guy s how much
this was the biggest mistake i have ever made in my photography adventures
i love my Nikon z7and loved the k-1 but the focusing was a problem
Ive recently been looking at my images over the years and i am still amazed at the quality so strangely
and with no reluctance Ive ordered a k-1 mk2
call me crazy but i just miss the Pentax and i feel the mk2 focus will be a tiny bit better
my only concern is100 ISO dynamic range magenta tint but if i use the ISO 125 that solves the problem i rarely go over ISO 640 so hopefully the softness in the image isn't as bad as Ive heard
my Panasonic s1r i had to sell dreadful corner softness with my Zeiss adapted lenses even with high quality Novoflex adapter even though the pixel shift was good the Pentax is better Ive got hundreds of samples that when i get time i will post on Dropbox for people to download and compare for themselves
in my opinion the Pentax is the best DSLR ever built in the digital realm the build quality is superb
the Panasonic SDcard slot wasn't that good i didn't think. good camera with native lenses but because it does the 180 megapixel pixel shift there is a slight problem de fraction occurs much sooner there will be thins that annoy me about the k-1 mk2 like af fine tuning but i will just put up with it and use the camera
i will not be buying any more camera or lenses for a long time and will enjoy this forum with the nice genuine people that are on here
i want to start doin a youtube channel about pentax which i think would help a lot of people understand how great a company they are

i know understand why they are slower at bringing a mirroless camera to the market

Exaggeration. I would hardly compare Pentax equipment to a 1954 Hudson . Not very knowledgeable about the Hudson car I see.
No, no... He wasn't comparing them. He was agreeing with me that screw-drive lenses are hard to kill and long-lasting. There was nothing intentionally or unwittingly disparaging about it...

Welcome back, Andy

You don't drive a Hudson by any chance, do you?

And I love my z62 and the magical sensor, although I sold all my z lenses but looking forward to buying the 24-120 or 24-200 need to get back to landscaping. Also looking forward to ever saving for the 100-400 and a x2 magnifier and I can settle haha

24-120 or 24-200
I suspect the outer third of the frame on the 120 zoom will be quite a bit sharper not stopped down. And has a tighter minimum focus distance.

Probably hard to go wrong with either though!

I'm pondering the 120 later and probably the 40 f/2 muffin sooner.

Btw I took the Z5 and an Pentax M 28 f/2.8 with me to Thanksgiving. Was a fun combination.

Yes, probably can't go wrong with either the 120 or the 200 for landscapes. 120 is intriguing as it will have 9 blades, and that close focusing distance could be superb when walking around in woods.

Definitely that 40 is a must buy but it's the easier buy between this and the 24-120 so it can always be afforded at a later point. The 40 is on discount here until mid January for 224.5 euro .that lens will always sell well 1st hand and 2nd hand.

Has additional vignetting been added or this is straight out of camera?
