What was your first digital camera?

First for me was an HP Photosmart C8452A it took four AA batteries, 2mp, 1600x1200 photos and had an integrated flash and a viewfinder, I still have it to this day and it still works after 20 years and thousands and thousands of photos - a great, if not professional whatsoever product from 2001-2002 era.

Mods: Not sure if this post is in the right place, if it's not, my apologies for posting here.

Kodak Funsaver disposable. I think for a lot of people growing up in the ‘80s and ‘90s, disposables we’re common. While not great quality, with plastic lenses, it was convenient and good enough for family pictures. Just went through and digitized all my family’s negatives, and while they might not be super crisp and clean images, the memories are what’s most important.

Sorry guys but I made a mistake by leaving out the word 'digital' before camera, but hey, in my case due to my age, its one in the same question. I inherited a K1000 but I barely used it at all and sold it this year.

My first digital camera was the Kodak Easyshare DX3700 3.1MP. It was quite expensive back in the day but here in the UK, Kodak had made a pricing error on their website and instead of being £329 it was advertised at £100. Word spread fast on a fairly young internet and about 2000 orders had been placed before the mistake was rectified.

Kodak initially tried to cancel these 2000 orders but unfortunately for them, the order confirmations had been issued automatically and the credit card payments had been taken immediately so they didn't have a legal leg to stand on so I got my first digital camera rather cheaply

My first camera was a Pentax PC35AF.

I can't remember what my first digital camera was, but I had a number of P&S digital cameras that I never was fully satisfied with.
I wasn't until I got my first DSLR (Pentax K10D) that I felt I got a proper digital camera.

The first digital camera I used was a Kodak DC50 at work, with a whopping 0.3MP.

Same thing here. That camera hooked me on digital photography. I lusted after a number of p/s models, but I was certain I'd want a camera with interchangeable lenses, so I waited. My first digital camera was a Canon D30 with 28-135 lens. Pentax wasn't on my radar for years.

I had one of those Olympus Stylus film cameras. Didn't do a whole lot with it.

Then I had a little 3MP Kodak, like others here had... didn't do a whole lot with it either but I do remember it taking great pictures in good light. It blew away what the Olympus could do with film.

Then I used a Sony DSC-P200 for about 8-9 years... great little camera, we still have one in the house to this day (my youngest who is 9yo uses it). From there I went DSLR with a K20D... and the rest is history.

My first DIGITAL camera was a Canon Powershot 540. I knew nothing about photography when I got it, so I checked out a book from the library about photography. The author instructed me to put my camera in Av mode, and it was all over, I was hooked and knew I wanted more, i.e. a DSLR. Pentax was the only affordable one with weather sealing, so here I am!

My first camera was a Kodak Retina I. Bought used, I hasten to add! I was perhaps 13 when I bought it; born in 1943 I'm now 78.
Stanley Balderson at the camera department of Thalhimer's flagship store in Richmond Virginia sold it to me for, IRRC, $25.00. The shutter was a little slow on the low speeds, so Mr Balderson had it cleaned, at a cost probably equal to what I paid for the Retina. The uncoated Ektar f3.5 lens gave excellent results. I still have that old warrior; sadly I somehow put it up with a fingerprint on the lens which seems to have etched the front element. BTW, the Compur shutter still sounds accurate.

My first digital camera was a Pentax K 10. It gave excellent results, and has been succeeded by a K5 and most recently a K1 mk2. Back in the day my Father had bought an Asahiflex IIa in New York while on a business trip, I still have his kit, extension tubes, a 50mm f35, the 83mm f1.9 short tele, and a Sears 35mm wide angle. The 'flex shows the results of hundreds of flower closeups and family pix, so I bought a "new" 'flex along with the 58mm f2.4. The old Asahiflex cameras are beautifully made, reminding one of a screw mount Leica changed into a SLR.

We should remember that the Asahiflex was introduced in the early '50s, followed by the Asahi Pentax line with a pentaprism viewer, in perhaps 1957, well before the Nikon and Canon entries. Deeper pockets and the Nikon system approach helped those brands to their current status. The 42mm screw mount Pentaxes are out there and affordable; metered examples use a bridge circuit and can use 1.55 volt silver oxide cells with an adapter to fit the camera - no diodes to drop the voltage - and give accurate readings.

My first camera was one my aunt gave me...some kind of ansco with a flash bulb attachment. Next I got a Polaroid Swinger. Then I got my uncle's Exakta V with 58/1.9 Meyer Gorlitz Primoplan. I still have it.
For digital I started with an Olympus D320L which had a fixed 5mm lens and shot 1024x786 on smartmedia cards. I paid about $800 which included an additional 8mb card, case and 2 sets of rechargeable batteries. I followed that up with a Canon Sureshot Pro90IS which shot 2.6mp images, had a 10x image stabilized zoom and a flip screen...$1000 in 1999. My first DSLR was a Pentax K2000.
