Perhaps it's seen as an artistic render.

I've often thought of taking a series of images to the co-op art gallery in Bancroft for sale. Now I wonder if this one would be a best seller. Is it immoral to try and sell work you don't even like yourself?

Not at all.

My photo partner did a band promo set a few weeks ago and sent the client the proofs. The only ones they eventually settled on for the package were the ones neither she nor I liked. Our favorites? They dismissed those, every one of them, on the first cut.

She was disappointed, but as I told her, what does it matter as long as the client was happy with what they got? It was their money.

All I want my phone to do is take & receive phone calls.
But I have to admit those are really nice shots. Makes me
think I need to consider trading my 11 for a 14. Or at least
use my 11 for more pictures just for fun.
Nice work...

Thanks for commenting.
At least give it a try, see what you can do. I'm basically shooting mostly with the iPhone, because it takes a while to understand a camera, even if it's a phone camera.

Todays work
iPhone on a Tripod

A K-1 comparison...

If people still like the iPhone better, I think I'll tear my hair out. (There's not much left, not much tearing,)

It's what you'd expect, much more tonal range with the K-1. And a much cleaner look.

Those are nicer shots Norm. You and the iPhone are becoming fast friends, but yes the K1 came out better. That doesn't mean that you might not get more upvotes for the "artistic interpretation" from your 14Pro.

Well then, my hair is still at risk.

Over on Flickr, the K-1 is ahead 2-1. For the moment my hair is safe.

What Norm's photos are demonstrating to me is that for around half of my snaps this year, the iPhone would have worked just as well as my camera.

True, but I'll still be happier if I never try a shallow DoF macro with it again.

What is amazing to me, is, they look like two different photos, even though of the same thing, and they both have their merits , just different interpretations. The iPhone is high contrast, the K-1 is comparatively smooth with much more defined tonal gradations. The K-1 is like what I was trained to do, the iPhone is what I did for fun. But bottom line, the K-1 to me is much more interesting as a possible print and holds my attention longer with the more sublet details.

By training I carefully nurture the full tonal ranges of the photo. For fun I blast the heck out of everything.

One of my own fractal K-1 images has now surpassed my favourite. I know nuffink.

13 dollars on Amazon... I consider it to be useful for macros.

As an addendum to previous post....
Let me provide an example... this will be accentuated because it's a cell phone image, and more subject to diffraction, because with the small sensor there is more diffraction overlap per pixel.

The bright areas are noticeably sharp (signal overpowers diffraction.)
The area in shadow to the left of the window is noticeable muddy (diffraction overpowers signal.).

And no, more resolution (smaller pixels) will not change the diffraction effect.) Any increase in apparent resolution will be from making things larger.

To see the entire thread and break down of diffraction look here

Wow, that is a great example of the stark difference between the well-lit and shadowed areas.

Some times you get lucky and you've recently done an image that illustrates what you're trying to say, without having to go out and do it on purpose.
