Interesting that Canon's expensive 5D also has this issue...

Strobist: Know Your Sync

but it's definitely something good to check when you get a new camera...

I'm certainly no expert, but how do we know that this is a CAMERA sync problem as opposed to a FLASH problem?

Not sure I'd agree w/ this being moved because there have been reports of people in the past w/ K10D's, K20D's etc. who had problems syncing w/ studio flashes and regular flashes at 1/180 :-P

As for why it's a camera problem vs. flash problem, it's a simple substitution debugging technique. Swap out stuff until you find stuff that doesn't work. In that linked article, the flashes and triggers stayed the same. The camera body changed. The camera bodies were the same model...
