Its like Panasonic came from nowhere, yet they've existed all these years.
I think m4/3 sales cut both ways. They take sales away from typical P&S buyers and they also take sales from Canon and Nikon dslrs buyers.
And Panasonic is expanding manufacturing in Japan. I like Made in Japan imaging gear and I assume at some point I'll buy a Panasonic m4/3 GH1 or GH2 just to see whats up. No one locally stocks Panasonic, just like Pentax.
GH1 is more appealing to me with the sensor improvements they've recently made, according to the article/interview. I've been seeing almost weekly price drops on GH1 and GH2 is not due till Fall 2010. At $999 for GH1 and 14-140 HD lens I'll most likely jump in and buy the combo, or not
