I hope you don't mean TTL optical VF. If that's what you're after, you're gonna be stuck with DSLRs regardless.

NEX 1080i video quality

I downloaded and watched the video sample DPR just posted.

Careful examination of fine details reveals that the NEX -- like with every other video SLR out there to date -- uses pixel subsampling (aka line skipping which is a too simplified term though). So, not all pixels are read in video mode.

So, while the NEX video appears to have good quality, it is not a new level of quality.

Yes, eyeglass makers
I paid quite a lot for my glass in my eyewear and they suck.

Had real glass last time and liked it but they always want to sell plastic and talk about weight. So got the plastic piece of shit now and they got scratched immediately and the coating have cracked/crumbled and look horrible. And I paid extra because the glass was supposedly thinner but the CA was insane and renders everything out towards the edges unsharp so one can only use the center of the viewing field anyway.

Hurray for "sellers" rather than opticians.

And btw while the cheaper glass they suggested in the first place was thought to work when they tried to measure the frame in the machine it was said that it didn't. But it was a woman using it and she didn't seemed to really know how to use it so I wouldn't be surprised if she just failed.

****tards =p

But reading the whole sensor for every fps would require just as much work as doing continuous shooting at those speeds wouldn't it? So rather understandable.

The 550D even has a mode where these pixels are only drawn from the center of the sensor (and at only 640x480, they could had supported a whole array of resolutions I assume, depending on how the communication with the sensor work) which gives yet another crop / tele increase, in the case of 640x480 at 7.1 or 7.2x.

Yes. But it'll change a day so I keep checking. And this is the first installment of an APSC video solution from Sony. One where Sony claims good low light performance and to use the same sensor in camcorders. The limiting factor could have been the mechanical shutter. One never knows

So, I thought it could be worth to share my findings

Pentax needs to bring out their EVILs with interchangeable accordion lenses included in the lineup. Chop, chop engineers. No point of teeny weeny EVILs with those massive lenses.
