I agree with this. It is one of the fastest focusing lenses (on a 7D) that I have ever seen. This video shows one in action (after the Pentax lenses). I would say my experience was similar.

Interesting video. I didn't realize the difference between Pentax and Canon AF was that pronounced.

I agree. I found it very interesting as well, and have posted it several times. The thing in the video that I find most amazing is that the 7D with the 70-200 /4 focuses roughly twice as fast as the k-7 + 50-135, using 5 stops less light!

I think SAFOX is the weakness of the k-7, but people have been saying that around here since before the k10d.
