New Sony entry-level DSLRs - A290 / A390

Both 14.2 MP. Looks like they have discontinued the A330 line as they probably should have a while ago.

The A230 and A330 aren't yet discontinued, with the only direct replacement being the A390 over the A380, according to Sony. How long that will continue to be the case, who knows...

Is it me or is Sony moving backwards with their cameras? The 100 was nice, the 700 a step up, and since then????????????

I agree competely (except for the A900/A850) so much potential, so much waste on their APS-C line.

As with most products, Sony's usual modus operandi is to remove features and nit pick away silly nuances into multiple models until you can't see the forest for the trees. For people who bought into the system (or were forced - minolta users) it is sad, but that is how they operate - no reason for them to change now!

I see they stuck with that dismal 14mp CCD. They would be much better offerings if they had only used their current 14mp CMOS instead, which does a very respectable job and might be worth putting up with the camera bodys' insufficiencies for some.
