building my Nikon system....

Here is what I've got so far...
Nikon D300s with battery grip; Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR II; Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 HSM, Sigma 1.4X teleconverter...
on my list would be D700 upgrade model(ASAP), 16-35mm f4 VR II... eventually getting an 24-70mm f2.8 Nikkor.

Don't worry, people, I am still keeping my Pentax...
Pentax K-7 with Grip(will sell as soon as the K-7 upgrade comes out), FA limited 31mm/1.8, FA limited 77mm/1.8, FA* 85mm/1.4.
on my list, I will be getting the FA limited 43mm/1.9

What yall think?

Are you bragging or asking for advice?

What's there to brag about? All I am trying to say is that I am getting the second system for sports and backup. Do you have to judge somebody you don't even know? or maybe I should ask you this, "are you jealous"?

To the folks out there that are willing to give advice... Are there any Nikon lenses are worth of getting? I am talking about performance, optical quality and so on? Hopefully it's from personal experience of using the lenses, not from those online review sites...

Thanks

I think Luke's just saying that if you want advice, you'd have to be more specific... The way it is right now it does sound like you're bragging

Your proposed system sounds pretty good to me, though here's some serious overlap between the Sigma and long Nikon lens.

I currently have the Nikon 16-35/4 and like it a lot, but while it's super sharp and not that huge, the distortion on the wide end is making me look toward selling it and picking up the 14-24/2.8.

I'm also wavering between keeping my $300 Tamron 28-75/2.8 or jumping to the $1450 Nikon 24-70/2.8. I want 24mm on the wide end and the best possible sharpness/rendering, but that's a biiiiiig premium to pay.

14-24/2.8 does cost a lot even used, 24-70/2.8 is kind of a must have lens, but the 24/1.4 is very attractive, but the cost is also up there... Man, I am torn between the decisions.
I do need a wide angle lens since I don't have it anymore for my Pentax setup.

and Deadwolfbones, how much are you thinking about selling your 16-35/4 VR if you decide to sell it...

I can get it for that price brand new as well, even cheaper actually. But for the money, I might be thinking about getting the 14-24/2.8, only downside is that there is not filters can be put on the lens... Just what I think, maybe that shouldn't be the factor. Still debating...

Interested to know where you can get it brand new for $1000 or less. B&H has it for $1100 and they're by far the lowest I've seen.

a girl I know that can get Employee Pricing from Nikon, but only certain lenses(16-35mm/4 VR is the only FX one), but most DX format lenses... Let's just leave it there...

Luke,

Isn't Tokina coming out with that new full frame compatible wide angle zoom? Might be worth a look if it gets some good reviews.

Nikon also has that nice 24 f/1.4. But man is it expensive.

Urkeldaedalus,

where in Iowa are you at? I've met a few Pentax shooters, most of them bought the lenses or camera that I was selling.
I've heard about the Tokina lens, I have to dig into it.

Luke,

I live in the Iowa City area. Did you go to Iowa State?

I saw that you had your D-FA WR 100 Macro for sale the other day but I was sadly too slow on the draw
