Stopped on the way to work yesterday and took a quick snap. How can you get bored of coming to work with views like this.

Always very sad to hear, my very best wishes for her. She looks like she is having fun here !

The zombie wedding is great. Nice shallow focus, engaging tones.

I wanted to put the Nikon's AF through its paces today, so I went with a friend to go play with his dogs in a park. The dogs used to be racing Greyhounds, so it was definitely a challenge to track them -- for me and for the AF. Still, for a first attempt at this kind of thing with the new cam, I'm quite impressed with its performance. I took Ken Rockwell's suggestion and used AF-C in 3d mode:

Generating Enthusiasm

Unrestrained

Velcro

Off Lead

It took a while to get them really riled up and running in the directions we wanted them to, but once they were going, boy were they fast. My friend is in the first photo, holding my K-5 with the DA*300. I'll have to take a look later to see what he got on the Pentax.

Anyone tempted by this?

This is the Nikon Df camera | Nikon Rumors

Nikon Df. Looks pretty sweet from the top awkward from the back. Be interesting to know the price, there's an announcement coming tomorrow

Nope, swapped my D600 (my backup to the D800E) for a D3s today. For me that is the perfect lineup (landscapes, people and birds, birds, birds). Stoked !

It has some appeal to me. But then again, I still shoot film cameras.

I like the look of it. We'll see.

D3s would do me as a second body.

Three from this morning with the 800 and 60 micro

Well the US price will be $2800, so knowing the way US/UK prices work, it will be about £2400 here. That gets rid of the temptation to an extent. Edited to add - in the UK you have to buy it with the 50mm so the price is the same in pounds as in dollars. Typical. No thank you Nikon. I could get another D800E for less.

Spent the late afternoon/early evening at Mumbles, knowing that on a nice day, the light might be on my side. I was right.

All with Nikon D800E

1. Nikkor 300 f/4

2. Nikkor 300 f/4

3. Nikkor 300 f/4

4. Nikkor 24 - 70 + ND4 and CIP (3 sec exposure)

5. Same combo 30 sec exposure from above the beach

6. Nikkor 24 - 70

7. Nikkor 300 f/4

8. Nikkor 70 - 200 f/4
