Nice work you guys!

DWB - I've always been amazed how you find interest from such simple subject that most are tend to simply overlook, always enjoyed that very much!

Axl - very quite photos of your little one! Just noticed how you thinned out your Pentax line of lenses... I was wondering while back (while your were selling your FA* lenses, now I know why

Question for D700 (arriving tomorrow) - AF settings, sooooo many options! Is there a "custom set" for AF lenses, let's say for people on the street photography that any of you can recommend? I downloaded on-line manual, and simply amazed to the level of customization and sophistication that AF system has... So any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Regards,
D

Cycled from Swansea's new SA1 development to Mumbles and back on another fine evening.

This is the lifeboat station:

Canon 5D mk III EF 28 - 300L at 300mm and f/8 1/250 ISO 100

On the way back I knew I would like to take a picture of the new bridge linking one part of the waterfront to the other over the river Tawe:

Canon 5D Mk III EF 28 - 300L at 28mm f/11 1/40 ISO 100

From mountain above Bristol Channel to get a slightly different perspective of things this evening around sunset.

This is five shots merged in HDR Efex Pro.

Canon 5D mk III EF 28 - 300 L @ f/16 and 40mm

And another traffic movement shot over the M4

Canon 5D MK III 28 - 300L at f/16 and 105mm 30 secs exposure

Excellent, very nice bokeh shown in that series. I especially like the one above. You're getting good use of that 85D!
Thank you Jay--the 85d is one of the lures of the Nikonian system if you ask me.

Great set, Jewlltrail! Standouts for me are the shot with the blue candles, and the one with the foggy mountain framed by the tree. Very nice.
Hey there V5--thank you! Means a lot coming from you.

I have to agree with that sentiment. And it also looks like they have a local high speed volcano to deal with. ;-)

Just my stupidity floating to the top on a Friday arvo.. ;-P

Took the summer car out of storage because the weather in Southern Ontario is so damn nice. Shot of my girls as we cruised around Elora, ON.

f/1.8, f/2.8

Here are the first two larger - Looking forward to seeing where the D800 takes this little 50:

f/2.8

f/1.8
I love my little 50 too Jay: am sure the D800 will take it to higher levels. The limited DOF is splendidly used to accentuate your son's blue eyes, further enhanced with the framing by the big curls--well done!

Thank you. The 28 - 300 shouldn't work at all because of its zoom range. It has some vignetting SOOC but easily dealt with in LR4 and it's a sharp lens especially bearing in mind it's 11 x zoom
