That 85 1.8G looks to be a tad better in every way but size - very exciting yet affordable lens. Post some shots when you get one!

I'd like to upgrade to the G versions of the 50 & 85, but that's going to be lower-priority than a few other purchases right now for me...

Damn!

Looking at that shot:
A 31mm lens on a K-5 would have to be operating at F1.15 to get (almost) the same DOF as that picture assuming the doggie was about 2 meters away.

That's why most of us have been 'begging" Pentax to release the darn FF camera.

With the fine shots you took above, it would definitely seem upgrading is a low priority. Not sure you could have gotten them any better with the G.

Nice relaxed shots there 'coffee'... Which Sigma is it though?

Don't bother answering that question as I read the EXIF.

My K-5 never recorded the lens model for my old HSM II.. seems Nikon are more charitable in this case. I just never expected the info to be there as a result.

I think it's time to move over to the dark side for me.. lol

Glad you like the set bossa, and thanks for your comments. The couple are very pleased with them.

The Sigma 70-200 is such an excellent lens - It single handedly changed me from a primarily prime shooter to a zoom shooter. It's IQ at 2.8 is awesome, it focuses really quick (stellar in continuous mode too), and it is absolutely silent. The only downside is that it is large and takes time to get used to it's heft. On the bright side though, when people see me using the 70-200 they clear out of my way (this session was at a public park that was full of people at the time). Free crowd control
