The recent price hike makes me tempted to join Nikon. But I am too heavily invested in the DA limiteds and DA*55mm. Why don't you like the 31mm?
The 31ltd is a very good lens, I owned one for about a year. I just found that I liked the DA 35ltd better, overall, and at the time my low-light D-normal FL was covered by the FA 35 f/2. I liked the bokeh of the 31ltd slightly better, and the speed, but really liked the sharpness, contrast and color rendition of the DA 35ltd better.

The 77 is just plain magic. I love that lens, love the bokeh and sharpness, it just is one of those lenses that can make everything besides a completely screwed-up shot look great.

Re the 43ltd... My copy was nice wide-open, extremely sharp at f/2.8 and resolved beyond belief at f/4. Since I shoot the Nikon 50 1.8D more than anything else on my D700 and love the FOV that brings, I think the 43ltd on a Pentax FF would be pretty much the ultimate combo for me - more than enough DOF control on FF even at f/4, while showing extreme sharpness and stunning contrast. Plus, I imagine the FF Pentax body to be slightly smaller, sexier, and in combo with that 43ltd, just perfect in-hand as well. It would be my everyday, do-everything walkabout combo, with immense capability and power.

When Pentax introduces a FF body, I hope to see something like a 20 or 24mm f/2.8 FA Limited, small, incredible IQ, and either a 135, 150 or 180mm f2.8 Limited.

So, the ultimate kit, for me: K-FF body + 20ltd + 43ltd + 77ltd + 150ltd

.

Excellent Bart! But the 2nd one with the 105 1.8 is awesome: great subject--great definition in the clouds.

Thanks Jewelltrail and Axl! Appreciated!

The 2nd one got some help in the conversion program: Silver Efex Pro 2

Axl, you're building a great set of souvenirs. Priceless moments captured.

Gotta agree about the FA77...it's my favourite lens ever, I love the way it rendered. If I could butcher one to use on Nikon i would...

Argghh my local shop informed me that their Nikon Rep said it will be a few more weeks before their D800's come in.. I'm thinking ROAD TRIP! I already have a used 24-120 held for me for a good price, just trying to decide between getting a 50 1.4G or 105 VR II, very different beasts!

Great shots guys! Any Nikon users try a PK mount adapter? I'm wondering how bad that extra glass degrades IQ.. I'll still have access to some PK mount glass for fun.. cost of the adapter is minor if the IQ degradation isn't too horrible.

Speaking of K mount. Were there ever any 55mm/1.2 lenses made with the cosina formula for Nikon mount? Or is it K mount only?

Pretty sure the Cosina 55 f/1.2's were never made in Nikon mount.

Arggh This itch is killing me, the ex has the K-5 now, and I've been reluctant to even want to borrow it, as I'm eagerly awaiting my D800.. but using my 8MP cell phone camera is killing me!
Keep up the great shots guys.. really like the perspective of your first of the archery set Jay.
