Which lens mate, there are plenty on that shelf

Been so busy working 6 day weeks, Ive hardy had any photo time so I took the D700 to work hoping I spot something to shoot on the way home.

85 1.8G wide open-

f/1.8-

f/4, notice how the OOF highlights stay circular thanks to the rounded blades -

Love that last shot mate but I would have cropped the last one on the left as that space leading behind is a distraction.

I like the DOF in the 4th one.. the water really kicks into focus and defines the entire space across the image to your son.

Brought the Tamron + D800 along on an errand, thought I'd have more time to shoot, but I didn't, so here's some output so far...

28mm f/8 ISO 100

And, finally, some utterly fascinating foliage

Sorry for the lack of interesting images or detail-laden subjects, I'd like to still try some f.2.8 portraits with the lens, get some more feel for it on this sensor.

Awesome stuff!

The 1st few shots are worthy of a photo-realist painting .. they used to love reflections like that, metallic surfaces etc...

We don't have that kind of thing around here unfortunately.

Thanks Steve, It has already been cropped in and I wanted to leave that bit like that to give the subject more dimension (if that makes sense) but I can understand where your coming from

Thanks mate!

I gave the D700 to my son and he shot this one-

He really likes using the D700 and wants one of his own...

Great shot of you and your son mate..

Re' my crop comment: I'm used to thinking of any graphic art as a flat surface (I'm a painter) and I forget that photography has many ways of thinking about that space.

2 more random ones. I've probably walked 8-10 miles all around the city this weekend trying to find interesting things to photograph!
