This is a fantastic shot, nibutto:

The line of lights at the top. the guitarist's stance, the color, the small twinkling lights (rain? bugs?) almost 'falling' down from the top, excellent composition and capture there.

The Storm Front (D800 + 20 f2.8D)

.

A storm moved down from the BWCA and Quetico, pretty fast... Some last minute fun before heading indoors.

+1 to Jay's comments. The lights make for great framing.

Love the last shot. Was this shot at a pretty wide aperture? Perfect demonstration of how powerful wide angle with subject isolation by DoF can be.

D800E & 70-200 VRII
Got it back from Nikon 2 days ago - they adjusted the focus. I only wish I'd saved myself all that stress I went though (particularly about the Sigma 150) becuase it turned out to be the camera and not the lenses screwing up.

I've been going berserk with my D800E & K-5 taking pictures of the birds in my yard and the huge gum tree next door for days. If you want to check out more here's my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/steve.griffin.5030

Glad to see everything is back to normal Steve.

Nice shots through the trees. Are they cherry blossoms? I'd love to see one in real life.. unfortunately Perth is too hot for them!

Thanks guys... ..As usual, great shots from everyone on here.

The blossoms are the Almond blossoms in my back yard. The Gum tree is in the next door neighbours backyard and it's quite big. It's really hard trying to photograph birds when your maximum FL is 200mm. Luckily the D800 can be cropped fairly aggressively if required. I respect anyone who does 'birding' regularly.. It kinda takes you over because it's so challenging I think. I have a back operation next week so I'm looking forward to getting out and about more after that.

Thanks!
I can add the solo of the guitarist playing "Brothers in Arms"....
I'm a big Mark Knopfler fan, it was the first time I heard this group
They were able to give me some beautiful emotions.
I tried to reciprocate by sending some pictures ...

Spent a bit of time in Liverpool and the sun came out. Made my way to the Waterfront and took some shots on the promenade in front of the Royal Liver Building.
