Some humble firsts with D600 and 50 1.8G. Its been a great first experience with a FF body.

Im in the "running around at home in the evening, when its too late and boring to take pictures, shooting anything just for the fun of it" period.
You know, the one you have when you bought something new, and dont actually have time for it
Anyways, these are Jpeg's sooc (almost, just some minor tweak here and there)

Am in Madrid for a few days where the weather was forecast to be wet, but so far (touches wood) is ok.

Terminal 4 of Madrid's International airport was designed by Richard Rogers and is a quite stunning building with lots of windows and light. They were cleaning the windows and is an unenviable task!

Went or a wander around Madrid this morning - pity it wasn't as nice weatherwise as yesterday but was busy straight from the airport.

A crossing button close to Atocha station: I have increased contrast and reduced saturation by 55% in one one and converted the other in Silver Efex

Hey guys, I haven't been here in a while because I have been a bit busy. I just received this magazine in the mail yesterday... I have been published (Words and photos) and wanted to share it with you all.

Today I received my 35mm F2 – the main reason why I switched to the 24x36mm format (to be honest it was the F1.4 version, but that comes later).
So here is just a quick snapshot to test the lens, and it gives me all I was looking for. Happy I am
Nice shot! I Alot of people dont like that lens but I think it renders nice photos. Im on the edge of buying the 35mm f/1.4G but Im going to see how Sigma's new 35mm performs first

Wow. I feel like gettin a D600 already. Marginally heavier than the k5. Problem is taking the immense hit on my DA limiteds..... I have all except the DA40mm.

Got my DA*55 and DA*50-135 back from their vacation in Japan yesterday and have to say they are performing very nicely. The difference in weight between the K-5/50-135 combo and the D800E/70-200 VRII combo is quite enlightening. The DA*55 is a very sharp lens too.. way better then the Nikon 50/1.4G I owned for a few weeks. Just sayin'.... ;-)

You should try the sigma 50-150 2.8 HSM on the D800 - as good as the 50-135 on k5, and the lens is a lot lighter than the 70-200.

I once compared the 55 on k-5 vs 85mm1.8G on d700..... the 85mm1.8G took the 55 to school. The 55 had to be stopped down to f/2.5 to match sharpness of the 85mm wide open (and the 55 isnt a soft lens!)

Yes I know as I have a Sigma 85/1.4. But it is a much better lens than the Nikon 50/1.4G for sure.

I'll be saying goodbye to this stuff soon anyway.. just been awaiting their return before selling the lot.

D800E & Sigma 85 @ f/1.4

K-5 & DA*55 @ f/1.4

D800E & Sigma 85 @ f/2.8

The Bokeh of the Sigma at f/2.8 seems to almost match the DA*55 at F/1.4 in that last shot.

The Weigh-in.
