Great shots all!

I had a dilemma tonight. Do I take my wife to bed or my new Sigma 85mm 1.4? For the sake of peace and harmony in the universe of course I will choose......my wife.

But gee it was a close call! What a beautiful piece of equipment! And of course I mean my wife......
I hope that 'equipment" has got a low noise high ISO response?

After long while I did some street shooting. I don't have time for this kind of photography lately but the last few tries made me realize just how much I enjoy it.
I have to say though, using 1D3 for this type of shots has it's pros and cons. The camera focuses almost instantly and very accurately and with USM lenses quietly but oh boy do the size and shutter clunk make people turn their heads...
anyway here are some recent street shots:

"raincoat and a rose"

"time to move on"

"evening news"

More from Paris:

Pantheon Panorama.. I don't have a proper UWA lens so I tend to try and do panos when I want something wide. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. This one turned out ok I think.

The view outside our apartment rental faced Gare d'Austerlitz. Very convenient location but the metro passing by was pretty loud!

Left: One of the big clocks in the Musee D'Orsay. Right: Gare Montparnasse.. obviously a train station with so many rail lines running towards it.

Sunset over Paris. No monuments to be seen in this direction!

Left: Pedestrian-only street full of bistros. A friend said it reminds her of Van Gogh's "Cafe Terrace at Night". Right: Part of the park at Chateau de Versailles.

La Conciergerie.. originally a royal palace but eventually converted to a prison.
Great series samurai!

My gf and I decided that whenever we travel somewhere, my goal with the camera is to come away with 1 killer shot that I can print and frame.
This sounds like a good plan.

Great set and a great advert for Zeiss Nicola - I have four days in Venice at the end of next week - hopefully I can come away with some keepers.
