Great lines there Axl!

As this is a "thoughts" thread, heres my thoughts. I got hold of an Tamron 24-75 (built in motor) for 200$, and went for it.
I only had 50 1.8G and 85 1.8G for my D600 and i really needed something wide before christmas, without braking the bank!
Zooms is not my cup. Tried many with Pentax, only to end up with primes.

This time i though maybe zoom will be different with FF.
And YES! It is very different, i think its the dof, and big view... 2,8 wasnt fireworks on APS-C, not for me.
But its damn nice on FF, and i admit that i kinda like it! Ok, the lens is not a super performer, but for 200$... i dont complain.

All 28mm, and bounce flash

For only 1/2 of a dollar and limited time you can view the urban cosmos.

The exaggerated eyes in the second one is cool. For fun it might be neat to see a closeup of one of the eyes to see the reflection is shows.

Sheep are curious creatures. I often wonder what they are thinking when I photograph them:

Sure can do!

Extreme crop, theres the TV, and me holding the camera in a not so normal way, and a flash bouncing on wall.

Heres a closeup of the other image, he is standing in front of the TV and im actually standing behind him. Final image was just turned around 180.

Really wet in the Uk at the moment - yet another wet christmas for us. I had one scary moment looking in the EXIF in Flickr - I have taken nearly 16,000 images since I bought the D800 in September! That's about 5,000 a month! Is that a lot?

Anyway here's a few from the last few days, some of them trying out the SB910 speed light - using flash is something i definitely need to learn something about to avoid ghastly shadows:

Nikon D800 Nikkor 24 - 70 f/8 56mm 1/250 ISO 400

same settings at 70mm

Caesar relaxing in the kitchen - his white hairs get everywhere!

f/8 26mm 1/60 ISO 400

Hi guys.

At the moment there's a beautiful frost outside, makes the trees look really nice.

Also, I had to get some quality beers for the christmas holidays.

Our dog Caesar is a gorgeous dog and very inquisitive, but he talks all the time in whinges and whines. We love him though!

Nikon D800 Nikkor 24 - 70 with Speedlight SB 910 f/2.8 28mm 1/15 ISO 800 (cropped to approx 5 x 4 - for some reason post update exporting from Lightroom 4.3 to ACR 7.3 (have upgraded to CS6) has stopped all the saved settings on import to CS6 pan in the proverbial as my workflow has always been to do minro exposure adjustments in Lightroom before editing in CS but while ACR 7.3 will import .nefs it will now only import adjusted DNGs since the update.)

24mm f/2.8 1/20 ISO 800

I have to say that the dog looks quite forlorn, although I'm sure it's just me superimposing my own mood. I've been ill with an horrendous gastric infection for 3 days.. never had anything remotely like it in all my life. I swear I've lost at least 5kg in the process too. I won't go into deatils but suffice to say I had The Doors Riders On the Storm in my head for awhile there. I'm still feeling light headed and a bit giddy so I won't be partaking of any Xmas festivities this year methinks.

I retrieved my K-5 and DA*200 from the local camera store today as they've had it for two months and only sold the 50-135. I may end up keeping it and buying a couple of used primes for it. I'd forgotten just how light it is, something I could walk around all day with and barely notice, unlike the Nikon.
