There's a dark 'glow' around the chimney stack. Is this a result of the Clarity slider in LR? (I think I asked Mark this question the other day.. lol)
This is reprocessed from the RAW with 0 clarity. I do often use up to about 35ish to help draw out detail...

Man, I miss summer.

.

Idling through old images from last summer, I don't think I shared this one. I'm ready for summer again now.

Nice shots, guys. Itsh, I find myself slowly using the clarity slider less and less (and structure in Silver Efex). I look back on some of my older shots and they have that "sooty" look to them. (I think Bossa coined that term sometime in the past). It's still useful, but I try to limit it to smaller numbers anymore.

Anyways, like that new processing job with 0 clarity. Feels very realistic. You really have a knack for these b&w cityscapes.

Jfsherman, was that shot on the 180 f/2.8D? I'm looking for a fast tele without the bulk/cost of a 70-200 or 80-200. I'm wondering how it performs on the D800. Nice color and composition, and OOF areas there. Maybe I should just get 70-200 f/4 but I can't getmyself to: slower aperture and I feel the cost is a tad too high. I mostly do landscapes, but also feel drawn to candids/portraits.

Since I'm here, a few more aurora edits: 24-70G and ISO 400 and 800 respectively (I think, the second may have been 1600, it's fairly noisy). Looking over these, I think I need to drop the vibrance/sat sliders a little.

Nice shot of the Aurora! I would like to see it too, one day!

Here is my entries:

This one was made yesterday at Photoshow 2013 in Milan, Italy.
Equipment: 5dII+85mm f1.8 and a led lamp I found there, on camera right

This one instead is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, in the centre of Milan, Italy, on the side of the famous Dome of Milan,
5dII+35mm f2

And last one a portrait of my grandma
5dII+85mm f1.8, natural light from a window behind the camera

Good night!

Brilliant shots! Love the lighting and contrast in the first and dark "white space."

Second shot is really sharp.

Also love the angle, DOF and lighting on your grandma. Lovely.

Only complaint: they are too small!

A few more messing around on a lazy Sunday.

Beautiful stuff Gabro

One from a wee wander yesterday - waist deep in places. Saturation down a couple of points and vibrancy up by the same. No toning - just strange light.
