I like the look of those. Very tempted by this lens. I'm tempted to sell the 16-35 and buy the new 18-35 to stick on the 700 for walks and LE stuff and also get the 35 for use with the 800.
Hi Mark, the 18-35 is a APS-C lens so I doubt it would be OK on D700.

First shots with a new Sigma AF 35/1.4 DG HSM in a Nikon mount. I haven't done any at f1.4 yet.

Nice work Tuco. #2 unfortunately has the doughnut highlights that this lens is renown for.. they get more defined as you stop down too.. this was the main reason I returned mine and stayed with the Nikon.

Its a full frame lens Steve, it will be perfect on a D700 or any other full frame for that matter.

You got good eyes. I don't see what you're talking about. Yeah, I considered the Nikon but 1/2 the price and good f1.4 performance was too tempting. It looks like the Zeiss 35/1.4 has the best bokeh and nice warm rendering of these three lenses but again a lot of money for manual focus and a specialty lens.

EDIT: I think you have that backwards there Steve. I just checked Photozone's Bokeh Test and it's the Nikkor 35/1.4G that seems more problematic.

Been on the road for the last month. Here are a few from my travels so far. All with the 24-70 and D800. Middle three with the Lee Big Stopper.

In London at the moment and working with a good friend of mine. Her four year old daughter is a real character who is very very intelligent who was talking before she was 12months old. She has full on conversations about all sorts of things. She has cystic fibrosis and epilepsy and her liver isn't functioning as it should. At four years old she understands what medicines she has to take and why she has to take them. She explained to me today that she has to take enzymes she says as her pancreas "don't get rid of fat properly and otherwise (in her words)I would be very sick." Her mother is a feisty intelligent Aussie from Melbourne that I have known for twelve years and her father is a rocket scientist.

This is the dimly lit downstairs section of London's Rainforest Cafe with just available light

Excellent stuff Kevin, 'Glenorchy' is my fave from that series. Is that fake rain in the first image, as the foreground rocks look dry and sun kissed? If so, have you got a version without that distraction?

These birds of prey always look so serious. They look to have a built in frown.

A simply superb eagle shot DCG ! What species is it ?

Thanks I've attached the 'dry' version below. Actually the rainy one better represents 'what happened next' I used Perfect Photo Suite (1 to 1) for the rain effects.

Good question, I think it's a white tailed eagle but didn't keep proper notes that day - looking at google image search I'm not convinced, anyone an expert?

Ah, much better thanks The rain looked a touch incongruous to my eyes, a little too much like an overlay.
