Nice work - I always find it tricky to put into print the dynamism of events like that. Is that the rebuilt Arndale behind ? I was there when the original was bombed into oblivion by the IRA - not an experience I'd like to repeat.
Thanks Frogfish! Yes, that's the rebuilt Corn Exchange and Arndale in the photos. I remember the bombing well and was fortunate enough to be clear of danger that day, though stories from an old friend in Victoria Station (largely glass roof) at the time are pretty grim. Taking a positive view, the bombing kickstarted massive investment and regeneration in that area over the intervening years and has helped make Manchester the vibrant city it is today.

Wired: well done that man, congratulations!

A short trip (5 days) to Kyoto/Osaka for my wife's 50th. Unfortunately time was limited (as was my wife's patience with my photographing temples/shrines and girls in traditional kimonos) With over 2,000 temples/shrines Kyoto is an amazing place. I certainly found it a more enjoyable and traditional, though still modern, city to Osaka.

No problem focusing the 21mm, infinity comes into play at 2m. I just love this lens !

First shot of Kyoto (Golden Pavilion) processed (after finally solving Lightroom's refusal to export anything for the past few days ! ). The 'better' vantage point (clean shot of the temple with no trees in the way) was unfortunately facing directly into the sun - so anyone going here should plan their visit very carefully, something we didn't do !

Looks like it could be a post card picture, nice. I set my 21mm to 2m, stop it down and start snapping away too.

A great shot, tuco. Nicely captured atmosphere.
Ofcourse you took the picture (so all credit goes to you), but Zeiss makes some mighty fine glass. And I am not talking about sharpness.
