Incredible images of Fushimi Inari -- just the right amount of contrast to bring out the ochers. Brought me back to when I was there in 2005!
Cheers mate

Tuco - that Palouse Falls looks an incredible place. Love the first especially.

I tried the FA77 on my D800 too but I really didn't like the soft output so that was that and I ended up selling my favourite lens of all time

I'd like to see if there is an adapter without the optical element to correct for infinity. I find that it does soften the images quite a bit.
Can you remove the element? That was kind of my plan.

Even thought this is not the first time I own a FF camera, it always surprise me with its abilities.
All taken with my beloved RX1, 35mm/2 lens

ISO 5000, hand held, 1/80, f2
I can see clearly the words on the building in original size.

Higher ISO?? ISO 8000
hand held, 1/80, f2
This is so clean to me.

It certainly feels like morning. This summer I've been working on getting the Sun down to it's actual diameter in a single frame capture for the FOV and have come pretty close and would love to get a chance to try it on a scene similar to your second one.

Thanks. I saw a small campground there too. Maybe a future trip with an overnight stay so you could look around more.

First one was FA77 @ f8. Second was DA15 fully stopped down as there's no A-ring on the adapter.

You can buy adapters without the element but the camera won't focus to infinity. All Pentax lenses become a macro on the D800 with it. The adapter without the optical element becomes an extension tube/mount adapter combo unfortunately.

About the only way you could get *close* would be to hack up Nikon and/or Pentax body cap/s (glue both together maybe?) so that a Pentax lens fits.

A number of people here have gone so far as to insert their Pentax lens into the Nikon mount and use them that way. I believe you have to twist it the other way and they *work* but I'm not risking my gear trying that.

Here's a commercial one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/No-Glass-PENTAX-PK-K-Lens-to-NIKON-Mount-Adapter-...45bd541&_uhb=1

Looking at the pictures it would seem there's room to make the intermediate ring much thinner but I suspect it's like this so the shield around the aperture lever doesn't hit the Nikon mirror.

I've seen simple M42 to Nikon adapters. Do you have any experience with them?
