Magical forest image, Mark. Was that with the 24/1.4?

I've only touched my K-5 once since I got my D800, and that was just to use the DA*300. With rumors of a new Nikkor 300/4 with VR around the corner, I might soon be saying a formal good bye to the Pentax rig myself. :-(

Ha! You always find the most warm ambient light; I had sort of come to assume you no longer used flashes and just directly commanded nature itself to provide you the appropriate late afternoon photons.

It was an 8 frame stitch with the 60mm micro.....

I took the Pentax to the Isle of Skye and didn't take a single picture with it.

In addition to the ones I took today with my Pentax 645D, some with D800E

1. "Sealed with a Kiss" last photo of this boat was a deep crop. Tide was well out so was able to get quite close - though not too close as I was sinking in the sand to my ankles.

Nikkor 70 - 200 f/4

2. Converted in Silver Efex

3. The old slipway (left) and the new slipway for Mumbles Lifeboat

4. Converted in Silver efex

5. Overlooking Mumbles from Oystermouth Castle:

Nikkor 24 - 70

6. Converted in silver efex

Need to return there later in the year when sunrise is earlier so streets are quiet.

Rather like the color version of the first photo with the 70-200/4!

Very nice Tuco! I remain undecided about the Df, though as I can't afford one it's a moot point anyway...

Three more with the old D700:

With Tamron 28-75:

With 50 1.8D:

With 16-35:

Thanks. Yes, the Df is not the best bang for your buck camera. But as a candid and walking around camera, it is one I'd reach for over my D800 any day.

Your lighthouse shot is sweet.

Love the lighthouse shot, digitalCG.

Here's one leftover from Christmas:

All Tuckered Out

She fooled us all by playing the part of the sleepy 15-year-old pooch once we were done opening Christmas presents. But after we left the room she got up and tore into her own present of dog treats, eating half the bag unseen!

Well, we took stuff off the tree today, which gave me a chance to do this super cliched shot:

Very nice shots, as usual!

I noticed that off-camera lighting and am wondering what modifier you used. The quality of light looks way too good for a bare flash. Looks like you combined two modifiers into a big one. Not sure if there is an on-camera flash contributing only in controller mode or a bit more than that.

That mate!

Yes way to good to be bare, I was using a shooting one sb910 through an umbrella nothing fancy. No camera flash as control, I use the Phottix Odin system (in manual mode) to control the lighting The rest of it is just light from the golden hour
