Using my 1000th post to show some shots from South Wales near the coast:

Nikon D800E Nikkor 24 - 70

converted in silver efex

nikon D800 Nikkor 70 - 200 - one advantage of having the D800 and the E is carrying two cameras with different lenses - inspite of which I have a huge dust problem, which got worse after I tried to clean the E.

converted in silver efex

Nikon D800E Nikkor 24 - 70 44mm f/14 30 secs 10 stop Tiffen ND converted in silver efex

Hi everyone,

I have finally dipped my toes into digital FF waters! I got a good deal on the original Canon 5d + EF 50 1.8 mk I and have since bought a EF35 f2 as well. I have really enjoyed the camera and haven´t touched my K-5 since. It´s amazing that the AF on this "ancient" beast seems to be far ahead of the K-5. Yesterday I took pictures of my son while he was swinging in the playground and almost 100% of the shots were in focus when using the EF 35 wide open and servo focus.

I never thought that I would end up in to the Canon camp, as I was really looking for a Nikon D700.. but in the end it was the colours that this old Canon produces that I fell in love with. At first the controls felt weird, but now it´s really easy to use, and the camera feels very good in hand.

Anyway, here´s some photos: the first one is with the 50mm the rest with the 35mm @ f2

Congrats on the new gear. I bet you can get good deals on that older gear now. In regard to focus it's not that the 5D is that good its the K-5 is that bad. I know I just spoke the devil's words by criticizing a Pentax camera but that is the reality of the situation.

Thanks, Tuco

I will put these two cameras on a real test next week, as I will be photographing a PhD defence on two different locations. I will take the k-5 +FA limiteds and The Canon gear as well.

I haven't been shooting much the past couple months, but I have been watching this thread. Good stuff in here as always!

Here are a few images from this week:

Untitled

Falls at Lake 22 Trail I

Falls at Lake 22 Trail II

First shot was with the 24-70, the other two with the 16-35.

New website url in my watermark -- got a-hold of www.chris.photos a couple weeks ago, hoping to get it operational soon! Been rewriting the code that powers cmwilhelm.com from scratch the past little while as an exercise. Hopefully I'll be done with that in the next few weeks and back to actually shooting :-)
